One Tonner 2018

The One Tonner is the premier road fun ride on the spring cycling calendar. The two long routes are both seeding events for the 2019 Cape Town Cycle Tour. The Sports Trust Cycling Club entered 13 cyclists. The conditions were extremely hot which meant the cyclist opted to rather to the 109km. Vuyo Mavuyo finished in 2:45:25 and Vuyolwethu Nkomo finished 3:03:14. Well done to the rest of the riders who finished in extreme heat conditions.

Vuyolwethu Nkomo awarded WP Colours

Vuyolwethu Nkomo from Mathew Goniwe School in Khayelitsha, will be awarded WP Colours for Track and road cycling (u19) for 2018. Cycling only 4 years now, showing growth and commitment. He came 4th in the SA Champs Time Trial earlier this year.

Piketberg Community Cycling Race:

The 3rd annual Piketberg community cycle race got underway on Sunday 7th October, under extreme hot conditions. The development cyclist training programmes paid off, as many cyclists endured the heat to complete a tough Piketberg race. In all categories The Sports Trust Development Cyclist featured on the podium.
